If you are reading this, my guess is that you listened to my Mental Conditioning episode on Rappflex Radio. If so, congrats! Thank you so much and I can't wait to bring you more episodes. If you are coming across this randomly, that's okay too! Above is the episode where I give a general overview of what Mental Conditioning is.
I want to bring you my top 10 books, audiobooks, podcasts, and 10 questions to ask yourself to start off your mental conditioning plan on the right foot.
Top 10 Books:
Relentless by Tim Grover - Must read if you are an athlete or entrepreneur. It will break the typical noise you are used to hearing and get you to start thinking like Kobe, Dwayne Wade, and Michael Jordan.
Linchpin by Seth Godin - Anything by Seth Godin is recommended but start here. Fascinating about how our world has been shaped and what to do to be a linchpin for others but more importantly yourself.
Principles by Ray Dalio - This is a MUST read. Very direct and matter of fact book from a billionaire who did things right.
4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss - Like I said in my podcast, I recommend Tribe of Mentors and Tools of Titans so I will leave them off this list. If you want autonomy in your life and seek to take full control, this is a must read. The title is misleading. It's optimizing your time and life not working 4 hours a week, although it's possible if you have the right systems and processes.
Dotcom and Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson - Online Entrepreneurs: this is a must read. The landscape has changed. Storytelling is king. Understand why and you'll thrive.
50th Law by Robert Greene - 50 cent and Robert Greene collaborated to bring you this tremendous book on how to destroy fear in your life.
Game Changers by Dave Asprey - The man behind Bulletproof did a deep dive on High Performers and I enjoyed his unique take on it.
Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel Goleman - If you struggle with focus or willpower or discipline, this book explains why in evidence based neurological terms. This is a great "why" book from the Emotional Intelligence expert.
10% Happier by Dan Harris - If you are skeptical about meditation, read this book. Dan approaches this book as a skeptic after having a panic attack on national tv and what meditation gave him back in his life.
How Champions Think by Doc Bob Rotella - A modern mentor of mine and the OG of Sport Psychology, this is one of his only books that doesn't focus on just golf. This is a great dive into different concepts that makes a champion.
Top 10 Audiobooks (I definitely prefer books read by the author):
Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins - Mental toughness on steroids. If you need motivated, look no further. Also love the format of this audiobook it's a third audiobook, a third podcast, and a third radio interview.
The ONE Thing by Gary Keller - If you are struggling like I did to choose one thing in your life to pursue and do it with excellence, there's no better book.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson: Very popular but underrated in my opinion. This book will teach you how to overcome other people's opinions. Hope you enjoy swearing!
The 10x Rule by Grant Cardone: Boldness and confidence comes from big promises and big delieveries. Grant teaches how to do both effectively.
Your Best Year Ever by Michael Hyatt: Best goal setting book I've read by far.
Linchpin by Seth Godin - Yes it is on here twice. That's how much I enjoyed it.
The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi - Great conversation between an old man and a boy on philosophy.
How to Be Everything by Emilie Wapnick - This book made me feel a lot better about having a lot of interests in my life.
Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink - Former Navy Seal and just outright badass teaches the concepts of taking ownership in your life.
You're a Badass by Jen Sincero - In a sea of personal development books, this one stands out. Love her perceptive.
Top 10 Podcasts:
Tim Ferriss Show - Obvious reasons. Interviews top performers and gets specific with them.
Model Health Show with Shawn Stevenson - perfect blend of research and real life advice and dives into multiple topic realms. I really respect Shawn.
The MFCEO Project with Andy Frisella - Absolute must listen to. Enough said.
Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield - One of my current favorites. Amy gives so much valuable advice away for free and I model my own from her concept.
The Peter Attia Drive - This is for those who want to nerd out about autophagy and nerd talk about the body.
Ed Mylett Show - Great guy and great speaker, Ed brings a great perspective.
Flow State of Mind Podcast - Shameless plug for one of my produced podcasts but we've had awesome guests and Erin and Jordan bring valuable info every time.
Boom Boom Performance Podcast - Cody McBroom (my current coach) is arguably the most giving individual of valuable content in the space.
Kwik Brain with Jim Kwik - Underappreciated podcast that I need to listen to more. This podcast will help you increase your memory and your overall mind.
Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu - This is last but certainly not least. Tom has a great story and passion for educating.
